INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR WOMEN

Picture
"Sometimes the bravest and most important thing you can do is just show up"
-Brene Brown
Individual therapy covers a wide range of issues. Just because you need someone to talk to do not mean that “there is something wrong” with you or that you have a “mental illness”. It just means getting a different perspective on what brought you to therapy.
I enjoy working with women exploring personal growth and the desire to live a life of purpose, happiness and connection who may be feeling stifled in their personal journey such as:
  • Staying stuck in the problem, unable to move obstacles to recovery
  • Feeling stuck or at a turning point in your life
  • Struggling to "find herself" due to life changes
  • Dealing with low self worth, poor body image, or shame
  • Struggling to define and redefine a life purpose
  • Struggling being present in your life
  • Struggling to develop an Intuition

INDIVIDUAL THERAPY FOR MEN

"Out of your vulnerabilities will come your strength"
-Sigmund Freud
I have been working very hard over the years as a therapist to tear down the myth that men are too tough, independent and unemotional for therapy. Many of the men I have worked with seek individual counseling in the areas of relationships, anxiety/depression, and personal growth. It’s important that men ask for and seek professional counseling when they need it, as counseling can help individuals address and manage a wide variety of challenges.

There are specific techniques used in counseling to help men feel more comfortable discussing their concerns: being open and using client centered conversations; adding humor can provide a different perspective on the issues they are experiencing, and finally, goal-focusing approaches are often effective in counseling for men, as they tend to prefer measurable goals and objectives a away to ease into vulnerability.

Counseling can be the perfect space to deal with issues you’ve had or is currently dealing with.

It is very gratifying to work with those who are self-reflective and can gain insight and motivation for personal growth. Your renewed self will walk away stronger and clearer about who you are, and how you want to move forward in your life.
